It is the most renovated room ever. There are many reasons, but two stand out above all. The will, first of all, to personalize this space to make it multifunctional and efficient. Secondly, the will to combine relaxation and wellness with the most efficient and functional solutions.
The common thread that characterizes the bathroom is the aesthetic research in every detail. For this reason we have decided to dedicate a column to this environment, in order to be able to face the different areas, that are part of it, through a series of appointments Today we’ll see the shower!
The shower has now become the symbol of the hyper-modern and accessorized bathroom. With glass or crystal sheets and thin profiles, chromed or with anthracite or black finishes, the new boxes offer, as a result, flexible solutions. And they also manage to furnish with a minimal elegance.
Which one to choose? What are the most popular solutions, able to satisfy the form-function combination? Let’s see them together.
There are many possible solutions for the shower area, to be chosen basically from two criteria. The first one concerns the overall dimensions of the bathroom, the second the space you want to dedicate to the shower.
Different elements. The shower area is made up of different elements, often to be combined and composed as desired. Plate, walls, doors, taps and fittings, shower head or column. The variables are many, both for materials, for finishes, and for dimensions and characteristics.
The discharge. Especially in the case of restructuring, as far as the shower is concerned, the position of the drain is fundamental. This depends on the fact that, if you want to move it, you will need to redo the entire system.
The footprint. The overall dimensions of the shower enclosure, the shape and size of the dish therefore, are fundamental in the design of your bathroom.
The height. The shower usually has a height of 195/2015 cm, while width and depth vary according to the needs. For this reason they can often be made to measure.
Depending on the types of installation, available space and bathroom layout, you can have different types of shower.
Angled. The corner shower between two walls, linear or rounded and with two glazed sides. They are the most common and therefore suitable for every situation.
In niche. The niche shower uses a masonry space delimited by two walls. This is finally closed with glass doors of various types.
Single wall. The shower on a single wall and with three glazed sides, at least one of which is fixed to guarantee stability.
Walk-in. This type of shower has the short side open, without closing door. The long side, on the other hand, is the splash guard wall.
Through shower. A definitely innovative and appealing solution. A totally accessible shower, often with flat floor.
Hinged doors. This choice depends heavily on the space available. This type of door requires more space for the shower area, a space that is reduced if the opening is towards the inside.
Sliding doors. They represent a practical solution for the shower area as they overlap. To be able to access them more easily, however, they are more suitable for a model with at least two walls.
All in one. The multi-function cabin represents an ideal and complete solution, which includes all the elements of the shower, from the plate to the walls, to the taps, up to the shower head.
What do you think about them? What are the best solutions for your bathroom? Tell us in the comments. Here one of the showers made for one of our projects.
